Not going to check the maths, but from the answer that you have got already:

[br] \dfrac{1-r^4}{1-r^2}[br] = \dfrac{-1(r^4-1)}{-1(r^2-1)}[br] = \dfrac{r^4-1}{r^2-1}[br]

I think you have done all the hard maths and just given up at the last hurdle!
