In this link https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intern...e_of_Palestine you can see it's pretty much only America, Canada, Australia and Europe that doesn't recognise the state of Palestine, but what does that actually mean?

Does it mean in their eyes, Palestine as a country doesn't exist? Palestine is an illegal state? Palestinians are actually living in Israel? Israel can build on whatever land they want because it's all Israels anyway? What does it mean?

Also why is it only basically NATO countries which don't recognise Palestine?

If those countries don't recognise the state of Palestine, why do they object to Israel building settlements and trying to make a state state solution etc?

It doesnt exist in terms of the UN as they need a 2/3 majority plus no veto by the security council.

At the moment they have non member observer status. Not quite a state.

50 countries still do not recognise.

The problem with recognition is that they need to make peace with the Israelis and reach a settlement, which seems to be far away. If they were recognised then territory would be immediately disputed and it would be war. A states borders have to be respected. israel wont agree till it gets certain assurances, but people suspect it isn't interested in giving up territory. Most people want a lasting settlement and peace, but its been going on for decades. Shame the Palestinians are caught in the middle. They were close at one stage but with trumps backing then the Israelis wont budge.

Read up on the conflict.
