Bristol accomodation

Hi
I really didn't know where to start this thread cuz in student accomodation forum it says NOT for speicific universities accomodation.
I am appying for Bristol accomodation (firm choice). I think I might put Woodland Court as the first choice, and maybe Richmond Terrace as a second. My criteria is based on how many en-suite rooms they are and how far is it (because i rele don't fancy an idea of living within a walkin distance of 40 mins).

So the question is: are Woodland Court and Richmond terrace good halls? I didn't like Richmon terrace on the picture, looks quite awkward but yeah, it is just a picture so it might actually look better. Also it says it's in Clifton- so supposingly the area is good, huh? cuz as far as i know Clifton is like the best area in Bristol or something.

Also, those who already have applied for accomodation - what did you put in your personal statement? because in the accom. application form in the website they ask to write 200 words personal statement. I made a draft, but not sure about it.
Can you please help?
I find accomodation as important as university itself, so as many answers are possible would be very helpful!

cheers
I don't have any experience of halls here - I've grown up here.

Clifton is the nicest area in Bristol. There is 400 acres of parkland (the Downs) which is popular with students in the summer - I know, I walk the dog there lol, a big road (Whiteladies Road / Blackboy Hill) with lots of shops and cafes. At the bottom of WLR, there is Sainsburys & Boots, and if you continue down that way, you will reach the Triangle, then Park Street, then the Centre & Broadmead. There are good bus connections from WLR too.

Very weird, I was going to make the same accommodation selections as you Apricott. I don't really know much about Richmond Terrace but Woodland Court looks good.

Forms don't get sent until May, so loads of time for the statement. I'm going to wait until I receive the form and find out what they actually want to know before I write the statement.

I was thinking of choosing Richmond Terrace as one of my choices, but really not decided yet. Wish I could see them before I make my mind up. I also dont want to pick ones that I probably wouldnt get into. Would seem like a waste of a choice and I would hate to be tossed around from one place to another till somewhere decides they'll have me!

Anyone know what any of these places are actually like?
Richmond terrace looks really nice - if you can fork out that much cash and don't want to be in one of the large halls then that sounds about perfect.

Never actually been in Richmond Terrace but I agree it does look pretty good as far as non-halls go. It's in a great location (I walked past it every day on the way to uni last year), 10 mins from uni, 5 mins from the heart of Clifton, 2 mins from student union.

The one slight negative is that international students who are only in Bristol for a short period (say, a term) get chucked in Richmond Terrace fairly regularly, so you might find that your flatmates rotate slightly.

Or, to be positive about it, you get to meet loads of people from different cultures, I suppose.

Yo,

When i filled out my accomodation form there was no personal statement, just a load of checkboxes next to various activities, you just tick what you are interested in.
Yeah, I had the same form, Check the boxes to check for an appropriate "flatmate". Not to sure about it because they didn't ask me to list choices for halls either. Do they send out offers based on room availability?
