You know on a genetic fingerprint, does each band represent a different microsatellite repeat sequence?

Depends.

The DNA is cut by restriction endonucleases into fragments. Each band represents the products of the DNA after the digestion. So technically it could be that several micro-satellite sequences are present in a single band. However, from what I remember, they usually focus on sequences with restriction sites very close to them so yes, essentially they do represent each sequence
