You need to have GCSE-level maths absolutely nailed down when you start A-level. Quadratic equations come up in all sorts of places, just as an example. 1st-year maths might not seem like that much of a step-up initially but it will get harder.

Same I'm doing maths in September for A level , alongside chem, bio, psychology and EPQ. Anyways, I know parts of maths can be amazing and like you can bangout full on but there are tricky segments, for that I suggest you try practise questions from this site. As well as purchase the following books for september like me: the link is below, I strongly suggest to do this after gcse results day tho. 1) I don't wanna jinx anything. 2) I need a break.

https://crashmaths.com/a-level-worksheets/ -> worksheets
https://crashmaths.com/a-level-learn/ -> notes
https://crashmaths.com/textbooks/ -> I am going to purchase both textbooks since edexcel makes us do pure and applied now - there's no choice between the two

Don't waste money on books you can borrow for free from a library! We give our students prep work so ask your own teachers for suggestions.

Don't buy any text book unless/until your school tells you to and then only the one they want you to use. Many schools provide access to electronic text books for the course.
It's worth doing some pre work to beef up your GCSE skills over the summer, if your school doesn't set any you can PM me your email address and I'll send you ours.
Ok first of all, don't use textbooks - use Examsolutions
Secondly, get a good calculator that's op but allowed by the exam board.
Do past papers after learning the content - Your spec is new, but the older papers are still relevant.

DO THE QUESTIONS FROM THE BOOK LASTLY
