please help me make sense of this- biology

Also, why is meat relatively rare in populated countries?
Hi not your fault for struggling this Q is very confusingly phrased. I think it is referring to the inefficiency [efficiency] of photosynthesis which is the method of feeding used by producers [plants] whereas once carbon fixation has taken place to produce glucose [and from that fats and proteins], then the transfer into herbivores [the next step in the food chain] as well as the ingestion of these herbivores by carnivores are more efficient processes [therefore cost less].
