No signal - swapping ends of HDMI cable provided signal
Wtf????
So I moved my TV box from one room to another. I had just the COAX cable in and the box had picture but said not all features available. Then I noticed the picture is laggy / stuttering. And after 10 minutes my TV said "No signal".
I then connected an ethernet cable and the box no longer said "offline" but still no picture. Only when turning off and then on again did I see for a moment the "Welcome" screen from the box.
I then called support and the lady said swap the ends of the HDMI cable.
I did.
Suddenly the picture is there and no stuttering.
How? How can swapping ends of a cable be a problem / the solution?
