I bought a road bike, but wish to rise in a common, Wimbledon common. Can I do this without getting punctures?

If the wombles are still alive and kicking then probably as they will have picked up much of the debris. Seriously you are always going to be at a risk of getting punctures and I have no idea what wimbledon common is like, if it has paved areas then the risk of punctures is going to be lower - although riding a road bike with thinner tyres over rough terrain will be probably be rather uncomfortable.

Road bikes are for roads. It will be uncomfortable and bad for the bike to ride on poor surfaces. Stick to tarmac or even paving.

It's not pleasant though. Very jarring on your joints/hands etc
