IGCSE edexcel History: Battle of jutland, Heligoland Bight and the Digger Bank

Hi everyone, I was just wondering if anyone had any useful resources that I could use to find out about these topics ^^ because my teacher doesn’t know about them, so all help would be useful! Thanks

It depends how much detail you want.

Jutland was the major naval engagement of WW1 between the British and the Germans. A decisive outcome could have turned the war.
Both sides claimed victory, but strategically the Germans never put to sea again.

Jutland is really the only one you need to know about if its GCSE . The ten minute video #3 os the one you need to watch.
The outcome is it was the first big confrontation between the Germans and the British for control of the seas. The British lost more ships because to their surprise their ships were more vulnerable due to weaker armour [loss of prestige], so the Germans could claim a victory, but because the Germans never again put to sea and the British retained control of the seas they could claim the strategic victory. Germans went on to pursue the U Boat campaign to try and choke off supplies rather than a surface campaign they realised they couldn't win.

If you were doing an essay on Jutland then you would need to know more about the battle as it is important and you could watch the longer videos, but no time.
Watch at least the 10 min video.

yeah same, I kept on thinking to myself before the exam, oh I should look over gallipoli, but it was good that we have sources and stuff. Thankfully as soon as I read the sources it all came back to me! How did you find it? what other topic did you do?

I loved the fact that the Cold War question part d wasn’t a tension one like explain how relations changed between 1955-61 bc that takes me forever!!

Germany was a nice paper I thought but a bit annoying that I had to revise church and Jews women young people gestapo etc when both c and d were on the nazis😂😂

So yeah they were pretty good I think I did well enough to get an A on that paper , but I’m unsure on paper 2😬

How did u find them x

Yeah I was super nervous for history I’m doing it for a level 😕

I feel like I’m questioning every answer I put now😂 you have to get 20/25 in each question to get an A goddddd, I’m hoping my paper 1 I got like 45/50 so it can cope w paper 2 which will probably be like 35/50
