If you want to be a police officer in the UK, does your universities' reputation or location matter (please answer for both location and reputation separately)? If yes, please elaborate. Does it make a big difference or for working in the police (UK), does your passing of their tests and interviews only matter?

I dont believe it makes any difference. Government organisations tend to be less fussy.

Could I ask which route you're using to enter the police? Thanks.

You dont even need to go to university - unless you're talking about a role within the police and not being an officer specifically

Does a role within the police often pay better?

    Hi there,
I have recently been successful in joining the Police as an Officer - commence training in the next couple of weeks. From my experience, applying whilst still at Sixth Form, your University will make no difference at all to your application. It wouldn't make a difference if you had a Law Degree from Oxford, or simply had A-Levels - People are appointed on merit alone. The educational requirement is A-Levels, so a degree isn't even necessary.

They literally don't give a **** what you have studied unless it's a specialist position. They are looking for people who can be good coppers, not head in the clouds students.
