Apoplast pathway is the mass flow of wate through the cell walls and cellulose fibres including water filled spaces of dead cells and they do not pass the living contents of cell so it is the major route of water transport

The symplast pathway is the diffusion of water through the cytoplasm of cells using plasmodesmata and cytoplasm of cells are packed with organelles and other molecules so there’s more restricted pathway and it’s a slow diffusion
