Opinions on Southampton Law School?

I was just wondering what people's opinions are on Southampton Law School?
I know it's not as highly rated as Oxbridge, the London top unis and Red Bricks... but if someone were to graduate from Southampton with a top class degree, would people consider this to be of great value?
Any help appreciated thanks.
It's so hard to gauge what impact the university you will attend will actually affect your graduate prospects, especially when considering that league tables are subjective.
Law just seems so elitist, it's kinda disheartening almost! It seems all to be about the university you attend, I like Southampton, but if I chose to go there I'd be settling for 2nd best...
Southampton seems quite good actually; I am working at a close by university at the moment, plus most my colleagues with degrees from there have done well enough.
I liked it a lot. I just hope that my confidence in it is not misguided, as I just made it my firm choice.

I made Southampton my firm. It might not have the best reputation, but it is still in the top 20, and when I visited I felt I would be really happy there

Hey guys, sorry to revive this thread but just found it and im starting at soton in a week and having doubts about it because of it's rep? :s what have your experiences been like so far?
Southampton has a worldwide reputation in shipping law
I'm about to start my second year here and the first was great; the vast majority of tutors and lecturers here are first-rate and the atmosphere is excellent. The one issue that I've had so far has been something of a lack of communication between students (at least first-year students) and the university's law society. I say that it's a lack of communication, but perhaps they really were useless in liaising with firms and increasing our employability last year. This year's president appears to be more competent, but that's merely a first impression as we're yet to see anything this year.
I can only urge you to put in the hours, as you'll get out of the degree what you put in. On a lighter note, the work isn't too challenging, just rather time consuming, so don't go tearing your hair out yet.

Best of luck.
