Need maths alevel?

I need maths alevel to do chemistry at uni but if I do it in a gap year would it be considered as doing alevels over three years would I be disadvantaged ?

yeah you would, my friends is going through the same experience with mechanical engineering. Universities don't care when you got it, as long as you have one.
