I’m 17 I spend all term time studying or sat in my room and during the summer my friends try to make plans but nothing follows through, I don’t go on holiday, so I spend all summer sat in my room doing nothing. I look at all the other people my age who are going on day trips and partying with their friends every weekend which makes me realise how boring my life/teenage years are/have been

Trust I feel you with the whole mates try to make plans things.
It's hard when your friends aren't up for joining in but if you really push they will and then you'll all have a fantastic time and do it more often. When are you 18? Pubs and Clubs are always fantastic places fro socialising, I also agree with draw the line- get a job! no only will you be earning moneyyy but you will probably have nights out with your colleagues. (Just be sure to start somewhere with lots of young people- like a leisure centre for example) xxxxx hope this helps !

There are lots of things you can do to make a life for yourself without depending on others.
Are there any charities near you - Food banks, charity shops etc where you could do some voluntary work where you would feel valued?
What about a summer job?
At 17, you shouldn’t be feeling like this, but you can resolve this yourself with a little bit of get up and go. Make yourself some memories to look back on because you will be a long time being an adult. These should be the best years of your life. Do try.

I wish I had this feeling when I was 17, I would've not wasted the last 2 years doing jack all now that Im 19. Its great that you've realised this now, unlike me so from now on make the most of it. Make sure to do things from now on and I assure you that you have not missed out on anything on being a teen cause life actually starts when you're around 17 anyways. Make your 17 the most memorable year you have ever had yet.

NCS is a great place to start, now that its summer I'm sure you'll have alot of time to spare, its a perfect opportunity to meet new people, to get out of your comfort zone and make new memories. It'll be your last chance as its only for 15-17 year olds so make the most of it!!!

Also its not hard to go out, theres soo many places you could go to e.g Cinemas, Themeparks, arcade, swimming and so on, just decide on it and tell your friends Im sure they would love to go.

I would also highly recommend you to get a part time job as that will force you to get out there and potentially meet new friends plus the fact that youll be getting paid and getting experience which I wish I had done at 17.

Also make sure to be active whether that be going to the gym, sports etc. that will help you out massively as well.

Please pray to God to reverse my life back to 3 years ago cause I have wayy too many regrets

the best rule is 'do more think less'

dont worry about others- just grow yourself, lots of good ideas on this thread but dont just read them and nod , do some of them and you won;t regret it

make moves or make excuses

Same. spend most time playing music and games. no social skills and losing interest in my hobbies but I refuse to get a job. I don't agree with pubs being good places to socialise there's always music way too loud you can't talk to people i prefer to have people over. If it's not too late I agree with the other guy. I went on NCS last year and was terrified of not making friends but it was great and met some cool people.

Learn a skill that can make you some money. Web design is pretty fun to learn.

Or study for your future.

Also lift weights or do a sport.

Maybe get some work experience or volunteer during the summer? That’s what I’m hoping to do after my GCSEs
