Just say Hi, followed by how are you or sometimes you wouldn't even have to say that, sometimes if you sit next to a person they will initiate conversation with you:smile:

Basically don't rush it, you need to get chatting to a person first, you can't usually ask a person out on the spot without getting turned down

You don't have to make the first move; just ask her to do it.

No it doesn't.

Yoda suggest you approach them, and chat. Perhaps if unikq is curious, a few questions. Perhaps upon finding a similar interest, discussing that. And then asking a number as you leave. Simple.

Ron Stoppable suggests that, while Yoda is advising a valid strategy, what the OP really wants is a trick to get coupled-up that is quick, easy, risk-free and completely bypasses any butterflies over interacting/dating/love. In essence, to remove all the fun of being human.

The wonders of alcohol?
It's not so much what you say or do so much as it's how you say and do it. Women like confident, articulate, non-knuckle dragging men (most of the time, at least). Pick up lines and all the other 'tactics' are pretty worthless at the end of the day. Just be polite and direct, and show no fear. Pretend that you're famous, that might help your confidence.

Speaking as a girl, I think that the less obvious you make it that you want to make the first move, the better. A girl wants to feel that you are interested in getting to know her, not just her appearance. I would definitely suggest that you give the impression that you'd love to carry on your convo (or something similar), so maybe you'll see her again tomorrow? She'll get the picture and things will go from there if you have a connection. It's all about making it natural.

Yoda hates msn, and often speaks against spamming texts towards a girl.

Its a simple sort of screening process. If you dont have the balls to make the approach then you aint going to have enough (literal) balls to satisfy her. Natural selection you might say.
ask her if she comes here often
