So, I won't go into the details but I've suffered severe mental health issues this entire school year (year 12). Typically, I'm a good student but my mental health took a significant decline and my school has recommended I retake year 12 due to the extenuating circumstances.

I know that if I retake year 12 I have a good chance of coming out with really good results, what do you guys think? I'm scared about the stigma surrounding retaking and what people will say at my sixth form.

Also, if I retake year 12 can I still take a gap year?

1. Stigma is irrelevant and nobody will know once you leave school. Nobody will care anyway, even at school. Take it again 100%.
2. yes ofc you can take a gap year.
