Turning Points -- Photons/Corpuscles

What are the differences between photon and corpuscular theory?

I understand both see light as being particles, but unsure exactly how they differ.

Thanks for your help!
Corpuscle theory existed for a while in opposition to wave theory,

There was evidence of the wave like nature of light which could not be successfully explained by corpuscle theory and there was evidence of the particle like nature of light which could not be explained by wave theory.

Photon theory holds that light (EM radiation) is made of discrete* packets of energy with wave like properties, Einstein called them light quanta but the snappier name Photon is the one that caught on.

*note not discreet
