Yes, I was considering doing it myself through this. Although there are other online sites you might want to check out. It is English Literature though. Sorry.

I'm not sure about colleges, maybe contact one of those A-Level (one year) resit colleges? See if they'll let you in.

Yep it's certainly possible. I know that some colleges, mine for example, offer intensive courses where you can do both AS and A2 in one year combined. Have a look around to see what the various places in your area are able to offer, although sometimes that type of combined course is only offered to people who want to re-take the first year whilst continuing with A2... still, perhaps you'd be able to persuade them to let you in. There's definately also the option of taking it independantly if you think you can handle the workload. Here's an alternative to the site Baal posted, which is English Language (I think)
http://www.icslearn.co.uk/gcse-A-level/maths-english/a-level-english/ it's a bit pricey, but it's for both AS and A2. It's worth looking around a little though to try to find the best course suited to you and one for the best value. There seems to be a growing number of places offering distance learning courses so you shouldn't have a problem finding somewhere that can offer you what you're looking for.

At one point I was tempted to go for one of these independant learning courses myself, never got around to it though so I can't offer you my personal experience of what it was like unfortunately. Just from quick observations though, it sounds as though with most of these companies you'll have access to any help or advice about the course you're taking should you need it, which is nice. But bear in mind you'll have to find somewhere that's happy to accomodate you for the exams. It's probably best to try to find people who have first-hand experience with that type of learning I imagine, to see what they say about it and to hunt around for any feedback available from past customers.

I think the better option would be to try to find a college where it's possible for you to take both years in conjunction. That way, 1) you wouldn't have to pay provided you're 18 or younger and 2) you'd have access to first-hand help should you need it.

My mate needed to complete his A2 Maths before he could start A2 Further Maths, so he did the full A2 Maths course the Autumn term and is now sitting the entire Further Maths in June. He's a complete maths wizz, but it can be done if you've got the self-discipline. I should imagine the most important thing is the time management, if you're cramming so much into a short space of time.

From an academic difficulty point of view, I think it's entirely possible to do a full A-Level in one year, especially if its the only A-Level you do. I had a friend last year who did A-Level maths in one year, he wasn't a genius, but he put a load of work in and ended up with an A and is at a great univeristy now thanks to it.
Check at your local colleges, see if any of them will help you to do it.

Good luck, I'm sure you'll do great

Thanks guys so much for the responces, they've been really helpful and informative.

I'm actually doing my Maths GCSE through OOL (distance learning) at the moment, my English GSE through the college as well as studying a full time ND BTEC in business. I'm planning on doing the A level next year, when I am no longer studying the GCSE's, so I'll have way more time.

I think I'll see if my college offers a one year course, and if not, I'm going to have to do it through a distance learning thing.

Thanks again, you were all so so so helpful!

I'm doing German A Level in one year starting september so it is possible. I'm doing this alongside re-taking an A2 Level so all looks good.
Hello,
I am wanting to do an A level in English Language in one year... did you do it in the end and if so, how did you find it and where did you do it?
Thank you.
