A helium balloon is inflated, then placed in a refrigerator. Explain what will happen to the volume of the balloon when it is in the refrigerator.

In a refrigerator, the temperature is less so particles within balloon lose energy and so collide with walls of the expandable container much less up until outward pressure = inward pressure so balloon deflates and returns to original shape.
