Speech is different after tooth extraction - is this normal?

I'm really worried. I don't want it to stay like this. A few days ago I had an upper molar extracted (one right before the wisdom tooth) and now when I speak it sounds like my mouth is full of saliva (judged my by sister, too) when it isn't. Will this problem go when my gum has healed? Is this speech problem simply because there's a hole in my mouth that hasn't closed yet?

I'm really worried. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

I had two of my molars (lower) extracted in December. My lip felt numb after extraction and I couldn't even drink water properly as my mouth felt awkward, I kept on missing my mouth if that makes sense. But apparently it takes roughly 5 months for the nerve to fully heal after they're removed.

Also my voice did change but only until the numbness reduced.

I understand if the voice is different right after an extraction, but it's been a few days since my extraction?

I had wisdom tooth removed sorry, should have mentioned. I was told to take medication every 4 hours or so and not brush my teeth or spit as the blood from the extraction could flow out which is quite dangerous.

But yeah my voice went back to normal after around 5 days or so if I can remember properly.

It's been a week and my voice is slowly improving back to normal but it still sounds like there's a jawbreaker in there when I speak...

How are you getting on? Is your speech improving? My son had an upper molar extraction 2 days ago now and he now speaks like you describe.

Edit: So on day 3 we went back to the dentist who hadn’t come across this before. I gave my son some ibuprofen and now he is talking much better, whereas before you could barely understand him. Such a relief.

My son had 4 molars taken out bottom and top 2 of which they were permanent teeth ,is been a week and it seems to be gradually getting better (his voice) compared to the first 3 days ( I couldn’t understand him at all) but it’s not 100% back to normal . 🥲 How long did it take you to fully Recover ??? I keep making up all these different scenarios in my head that could’ve went wrong .
