Is there any way I can do medicine without science A-levels?

I am currently studying PE, Politics and Business Studies, I took a wide variety of subjects because I was unsure of what career I wanted to follow. Recently I have had the hopes of becoming a Psychiatrist, however I need to study Medicine in order to do that. My GCSEs in science weren't amazing therefore if I was to attempt to take rigorous sciences for A-levels I would most probably need to re sit my GCSEs, taking extra time to re sit exams is not a problem for me, however I have been informed that because of the competitiveness of Medical schools they don't even look at someone who has done re sits.

I understand that it is a long shot but is there any way I could get onto a Medicine course in my current situation?
