As per your thread bump earlier, yes, it is a modification. You need to check with your insurer as to whether they need you to declare it, as some would see it as not important.

A modification is anything that deviates from the factory spec. Your car didn't come with a sub from the factory, so it is absolutely a modification.

The question is whether your premium will be affected - some insurers may not increase it, some may. You'll have to ask yours.
