Oxford Open Days, Wednesday June 27 & Thursday June 28

Oxford's first two Open Days are happening next week on 27 & 28 June. These provide a great opportunity to visit colleges/departments and to meet current students and academics.

We thought it might be of interest to create a thread to post any queries and/or for organisers to post further details of the two days.

This is a general link to the University's Open Day page:

And this is a link to Brasenose's details:

We'll be open on both days from 9am to 5pm. There's no need to book in advance - just turn up at the main gate (Radcliffe Square). Student-led tours are offered all day and there is also a programme of academic drop-ins or talks for different subjects (the above link has a schedule).

The sessions at the Examination Schools on tips and how to tackle the HAT (history test) are all full for each day - will people be disadvantaged if they can't get into the session/attend and is there anywhere else to access the same information? It says the sessions will be interactive - is there/will there be a recording or something else available?

Thanks for your great question. We'll take this up with University Undergraduate Admissions and the History Faculty asking if the session can be put online.

Good news: there is already a pod-cast available on-line of one of these sessions that was recorded in 2016. As it covers the primary source question it’s still useful for the revised HAT you can see it here:

and scroll down the page.

The 2018 session may also be recorded and if so we think it will be added to this site.

Wonderful - thank you, probably would have missed that if you had not pointed it out.
Wow, two absolutely amazing days!

Thanks to everyone who came to visit - we hope you had a great time. The sun shone and the city looked amazing.
We love the open day atmosphere that comes round at the end of every academic year.

Feel free to post your thoughts on your experience along with any queries.
