I didn't say not allowed to be interested in anything but medicine. What i meant was that you shouldn't want to settle for anything less. Medicine should be the 1st choice. And the first choice, should be the only choice.
And also of course people get a medicine offer, the medical schools don't know where else you applied to, so for all you know you haven't applied to a fifth choice. What i was saying is that at interviews, it should come across that your main area is medicine, and that your backup is precisely that, a backup if you don't make the grades.
That being said, to each his own, and willowtree still has plenty of time to decide what he wants to do.
