Hi,
I have just completed my GCSE's and will be going to college in September to do a level 3 extended diploma in health and social care.
I have two questions that im hoping people can help me with?
Is the new marking system (9-1) applicable for this course, or will it be pass, merit and distinction?
If it is still merit, etc, how hard would it be to get DDD or D*D*D*? I am so motivated and determined to get the top grades and do well.
Thank you!

It will stay as pass, merit and distinction. Right now you need at least 9 points for a distinction, 8 for a merit and 7 is a pass... think it depends on the weight of the unit you're studying . Obviously I'll be finishing in 2 weeks time, I haven't found the course hard but it is quite loaded and so you become lazy and bored.

I have achieved D*D*D so far and that is about 1560-1589 points but to get D*D*D* you need 1560+

You did good last year then. Did you do unit 3? If so how did you find it?

Sure, I got a distinction in that unit. Pretty straightforward but not an area of my interest.
