embarrassing wet patches

please keep anon or delete.

over the past few months i have been, well "leaking" (sort of) from down below. i don't mean like a discharge or owt, i mean wee.
1st few times ok i was pretty drunk & thats what i put it down to, but even while drunk its not the nicest of feelings walking round town knowing you hav a huge wet patch on your dress/skirt for all to see (& point & laugh at):s-smilie:
last time it happened was last week during my lunch hour in town, i wasnt drunk NOR did i "feel like" needing a wee, yet i still ended up leaking (luckily i was wearin a denim mini & thick tights, but you could still tell)
i havnt had a kid either before anyone asks & i refuse to wear "liners" either, thats for oldies:frown:
any advice, suggestions or similar experiences will help & how i can stop it happening x

ohh, i leak often too.

especially when i sneeze or something.

i'm keen to hear what people say about this.
Happened to me too a few times recently :-/ really have no idea why! Thought itd prob just go away. Happened after hot baths or running... I'd say liners are the way forward, for a while anyway, n/m that theyr for oldies, lol. Might just be a passing thing. Let's hope!
x
I think you should ask a doctor for advice
Honestly, what are people on TSR going to do? We are students, not doctors.
Things that might help:

1) Do pelvic floor exercises (google this or "kegel")
2) See your GP
3) Wear liners; wet patches are "for oldies"

do loads of pelvic floor exercises.
next time u go for a wee, stop yourself midway. i know it sounds weird but youll know which muscles need working. wen u work out how to stop. pull the muscles and hold for like 5-10 seconds for a few minutes just like wen sitting watching tv. should help.

thanks, i can try cant i x
I've had this problem for many years (had kidney problems when i was younger) - I've started doing the excerises and it helps. But depending on how bad it is, they can take months (or even a year or more) to solve the problem.

I wear Tena liners - you don't even notice them, it's not like wearing a sanitary towel.

It can be worse for some women around a certain point in the menstruel cycle, by the way.

Glad I'm not the only person with this problem!

urinary incontiance is the name given to it, and there are lots of different kinds, its important for you to go to your gp as its not as common in a young age.

the best thing to do is do pelvic floor excercises.............u contact ure muscles 10 times for 2 seconds and then 10 times for 10 seconds once a day it really helps...this is what we learnt at medschool anyway!

im pretty sure i'd prefer wearing panty-liners rather than everybody seeing that i've wet myself.

Wear liners as a short term solution whilst you wait to see GP, do pelvic floor exercises etc  There's nothing wrong with them and no one will know you are wearing one. And it will let you relax!

thanks everyone. id rather look into these exercises 1st before i see a gp.

OK but a GP will have seen your issue many times before, and will have the best advice

i think u should see the gp because if your leaking without increasing abdominal pressure (sneezing, coughing, laughing etc) then u need to know whats going on, its important.

well it happens sometimes when i run, sneeze, laugh & even bend over.
its the pure embarrassment of seeing the doc, if that makes sense.

it may be something such as stress incontinence then, but of course all advice on TSR is unprofessional

don't be embarrassed!
