First year law student in the UK (How can I position myself?)

Hello everyone,

I am a Spanish student and will start my Bachelor of Laws in Nottingham this coming September.
I have friends that studied finance and have been absolute beasts from the beginning i.e. doing 3 springs weeks, then getting Summer Analyst offers and converting straight to FT or jumping straight to buyside.

In any case, I would like to know how to position myself from day 1 to hit the ground running - if possible, I would like a clear timeline of the applications/programs that I should do in the relevant years of my 3 year study program in order to maximize my chances of landing in one of the top firms. I am referring to Spring Weeks/Insight days/Open Days and the likes.

I eventually would like to work in corporate law, either M&A/PE, Restructuring/Insolvency Law or International Arbitration.
