Get x-y=4 in terms of x or y, eg x=4+y and sub back in to first equation

4= -4y
Y= -1 sub y) into any equation, In this case 2)
X-(-1) = 4
X+1 = 4 > x=4-1
Therefore y= -1 and x= 3
