The guy (or whoever he was) who gave us an introductory talk at the open day was not particularly interested in us making UCL our firm. I dunno, he was boring and told us stuff like we'd already known, and he seemed to be rushed, and wanted to get on with interviews and other stuff... in fact the open day ended 15 mins early. The open day was not very interesting to say the least.

Our one ended quite late... but yes unorganised it was.

I heard some of the lecturers aren't good from a current student.

Lecturers/Class teachers in general are good at least for the econ dept. Whether they are your lecturers as well is something I do not know.

I also have an offer for this course. Will this be your firm?

Hi, I have an offer for statistics, eco and finance at UCL and just wanted to know how difficult is the statistics part of the course? Also if i get a 1.1 or 2.1, what are the job prospects like? What jobs can you get into? Also is the course boring?

I agree the stats dept open day/interviews were not presented well at all. It was a big let down after the general open day was much much better. Still think it will be my first choice though.

its not that great im currently doing it and i want to change my course as i dont really like statistics and would much prefer to do economics, if this is the way you feel then i would advise against doing this course.

hi there, is that really true cause im regret applying economics and statistics and got accepted. i would prefer eco and finance:frown:

Reply 13

well eco and finance if you mean stats, eco and finance then its got much more stats than eco and stats. so if your like me then really really think about going elsewhere

Hello everyone, i also got an offer for this course for A*AA, but im not sure if i would like the statistics at uni... i agree, in the open day, the taster lecture definately did not persuade me to want to do stats at uni.
also they want an A* in maths. Im doing C3 C4 & S1 this year, so does that mean i need to get at least 80 in all C1 C2 C3 D1, and 90 in C3 C4 S1 ? or just the C3 and C4 ?
im a bit unsure about this new A* grade.
anyway well done everyone for getting an offer

Reply 17

you need to get all the modules 80% and over for AS level
and 90% and over for all A2 modules

I have an offer for Stats, Econ and Finance at UCL but am thinking about changing to Philosophy and Economics before making my firm and insurance decisions. Do u reckon they would let me change my offer? Chrz

Anyone here with experience of entry requirements as far as Scottish candidates are concerned?
For my highers I got;
Maths: A, English: A, Business Management: A, Information Systems: A and Geography:B(appealing for an A)
Advanced Highers: Maths, Business Management and Geography

Here in Scotland we take Advanced Highers, which are supposed to be equivalent to 1.5 A-level. Would it therefore not be wrong to give Scottish candidates the same offers as English candidates?
