Hi, I’ve accepted a conditional offer to study pharmacy and I always hear about reading lists over summer etc. Do all courses have reading lists? Also is it essential to get all textbooks on reading lists because I know they’re expensive.

Hi @_nim1

Most courses have reading lists but I wouldn't worry about that until you start at Strathclyde. Your lecturers will let you know what textbooks are compulsory and which ones they prefer you to use for their course!

Any other questions, just DM me.

I got a place on BEng Electrical and Mechanical Engineering course for September 2019. I have private accommodation and I am looking for 2 flatmates to share with. I am 24, female and a Glasgow Local, I started a thread if anyone is interested

HI, I have some questions about the scholarship.
I have applied it at the end of March. It's been three months.
How long I suppose to receive the outcome?
Hi @Larste,

Which scholarship have you applied for?

Hi, I have got an unconditional offer in April, which I accepted. I was just wondering, when will we hear back from the uni with things like confirmation, login details, etc.

Thank you!

Hi @Larste,

Are you applying for the undergraduate or postgraduate engineering course? What specific scholarship have you applied for? If you can let me know, I'll be able to find out for you when you will receive the outcome.

In the meantime, if you have any other questions then just let me know.

Hi,

You should receive a registration email over the summer with details about starting. You can also find some more information online:

If you have any other questions then let me know.

Hi,
I am applying for an undergraduate course. The scholarship I applied, I only know it's called Faculty of Engineering Excellence Scholarship from your website, for international students.

I’m currently advising an S6 pupil who is passionate about studying pharmacy. In S5 he achieved ABBBC in Highers with the A being in Higher Human Biology, a B in Higher Chemistry and C in Higher Maths.

In S6 he is predicted ABB in Advanced Higher chemistry, biology and geography plus an A in Higher PE.

The cumulative results would therefore be AABBBC in Highers and ABB in Advanced Highers. If he goes to College to study Higher Maths and achieves an A would he be considered for a conditional offer in next years application cycle (ie for entry in 2021)

I want to ask about two questions:first one, If i apply for foundnation year(undergraduate pathway) could i book your school accommodation ?And then i want to ask how many students could enter the second grade (what is the rate of entering the second year)

Hi @zjm 990414  Are you an International applicant? We don't have any foundation year programmes here, so if you're beginning an undergraduate degree most students begin from year one. Undergraduate programmes in Scotland are usually 4 years of study (elsewhere in the UK you may see these taught over 3 years). If you are a student at Strathclyde then you can apply for student accommodation, yes. Priority is given to students in their first year of study, but we cannot guarantee a place due to high demand lately. Our Accommodation team do their best to allocate rooms where possible, and our Students Union have a great resource hub if you're looking at off-campus options as well.

If you are suitably qualified then we'd be able to consider you for advanced entry (e.g. year two), but this is dependent on your qualifications  What is it you're hoping to study?

Hi @ahmedajc  No, the LLB Hons degrees are Undergraduate programmes, not Postgraduate (Masters) level. We do have Masters and Postgraduate degrees within the Law department if you were interested in completing one following your Honours degree. Hope that helps!

Please tell me that after completing foundation year at ISC, what will be the time span for LLB? And the time span for LLM?

Hello,
Once you have completed the Undergraduate Foundation Programme, and subject to satisfying the progression criteria, you would proceed to Year 1 of the four year LLB degree. Please see more info here: https://isc.strath.ac.uk/programmes/undergraduate-foundation/business-social-sciences. The LLB Law is one of the programmes listed under the alternative conditions tab when you scroll down the page. If you have any specific questions about this you'll need to get in touch with the ISC directly.

The LLM is an additional year (12 months) of study

Hi Sarah, my son is keen to apply for Civil Engineering and Civil & Environmental Engineering. We live in Stirling, what is the chance of him getting accommodation allocated if offered a place?
