Umm I have really thin blood and bad migranes. When I stand up really quickly, all the blood drains away and gives me a terrible pain in the 'migrane spot' (where I normally develop a migrane) and then I'm out. I don't think I'm weaker, I can work at a cafe and put all the chairs up and work 10 hour shifts no problem, normally.
And about 100, maybe more, maybe less. Started when I was about 12.

I've only fainted 3 times (thankgod coz it's horrid)

First time - getting Blood Test
Second time - bad Period Pain
Third time - woke up & felt really odd & sweaty. Stood up & collapsed :s-smilie:

I haven't ever randomly done that, but I faint very easily. Once I was at a concert, after 30 mins I passed out from overheating (I was completely sober). I believe I have a very sensetive system, if I do too much exercise I feel faint and dizzy, I can't smoke more than a couple of tokes of a spliff before needing to sprawl out on the floor (I dont any more at all)...I think some people are just more tolerant to stuf.

Sensitive systems usually. Though it could also be due to weakness if the person is anorexic or something similar.

I've only ever lost conscious once but only for a few seconds, I'm quite prone to heat exhaustion and passed out once due to it. Usually I just get weak and dizzy and collapse. Dont tend to lose consciousness much. It's pretty weird tbh, I was born in a hot country and I cant handle hot temperatures in Britain :p:

I've fainted a couple of times in the past - my doctor linked it to the fact that I'm anaemic.

I've fainted at a gig before...I just thought I was asleep when I woke up, the only thing that woke me up was the pain from my face hitting the floor. Another time, I was watching something in psychology about people with anorexia, but it was so extreme that they had to be fed through a drip; I hate anything to do with tubes going down a person's throat. I suddenly felt really sick and thirsty, and my teacher told me to get out of the classroom because I was disrupting the class. I fainted on the way out, knocking my head off a table as I did so. I had two black eyes, wooo... my head of sixth form saw though, I was literally crying into his stomach for the next half hour because I was so scared. I don't like thinking that I'm weak, or having anything happen to my body that might suggest so. Those are the only two occasions that I've fainted and I don't know why they happened... it might have something to do with blood sugar levels though? I think that's what my doctor told me...

I've done it twice, but get regular dizzy spells that scare me (and everyone else around me, for that matter). Something to do with low blood pressure and my heart speeding up then suddenly slowing. Not fun!

Yes, indeed. Diabetic comas are caused by low blood sugar, for example.

It funny girls seem to be more prone to it, I think when it comes to girls its more or less related to hormones all this dizzyness etc.

Ive never fainted but there is a girl at school who faints quite often, its normally when she is walking up or down stairs as well. Really worrying :s-smilie:

I've fainted once from period pain..
I black out when I'm having panic attacks, and have collapsed but that's sort of different..and I've come very close to fainting numerous time just from being...exhausted. Oh and once my friend nearly sliced her thumb off..we got her to the medical room and then all the blood drained out my face and i had to sit down. Suddenly. Haha.

I don't think it's because you're 'weaker' ... just, blood sugar, or iron or, I dunno, being exhausted.

I faint at the sight of blood - even a paper cut. It's really embarrassing! I don't think it indicates anything physically wrong with me, maybe 'more sensitive' is a good way of describing me though lol.

I faint fairly frequently, usually in public places, much to my embarrassment. Sometimes I just get woosy and collapse (I get really bad dizzy spells a lot and overheat very easily) but aren't actually unconscious, other times I'm completely out of it, taking up to 15 mins to regain consciousness.

I'm not really sure what it is, my doctor's linked some of it to stress, causing my blood pressure to soar, I'm not convinced though.

Perhaps it does mean I'm more sensitive to the elements, what with the overheating and everything. However, I would not say that it makes me weaker, I lead a busy life and play a lot of sport, I manage perfectly fine.

i used to have a nerve problem that would cause me to drop to the floor, literaly straight back

I've fainted regularly in science lessons at school or at home when I was younger if I read or watched a video about blood disease/menstruation etc. Certain things trigger it off, mainly when I know I have no control over them..it's scary because once I've gone beyond that 'point where everything goes echoey and blurry' I can't go back :frown:

I've fainted twice at gigs, the second time was really embarrassing because my top got pulled up as my then boyfriend and a random crowd member were dragging me out and half of Brixton Academy saw my boobs! I nearly fainted a third time at a gig, but my friend got me out, sat me down and got me some water so I was fine.

Haven't a clue what caused it, maybe heat, dehydration or whatever but i've been to hundreds of gigs so it can't just be that... I did have low iron levels when I was a vegetarian so maybe that was it.

Sounds like what happened to me when I had a migrane. After I had a sleep i felt fine was wierd, but i thought i was going blind at the time.
