Now also, once plasma cells produce those antibodies, T and B cells produce memory cells from the process of destroying the pathogen. Therefore if the same pathogen returns, this can activate memory cells and therefore the immune response will be quicker as cells know which antibody needs to be produced to defeat the pathogen via binding to antigen.
Tip- antigenic variation is something to consider too it’s where a pathogen change the antigens on its surface... meaning the second time the pathogen might come it’s antigens could be different so memory cells won’t recognise that it’s the same pathogen....
