Are you sure they are not just being reported more (and people are paying more attention) after Grenfell?

There have been more destructive fires in 2018 than any other time excluding The Great Firenof London and world war the first and second
Fires happen all the time.. there’s nothing special about 2018.

Fire fighters are still trying hard to extinguish the moorland fire in Manchester! After the scottish art school fire, this one was really unexpected. It is a disaster

No it wasn't. It's summer and moorland. Happens all the time.

The size is unusual, sure.

But that it happened is not a surprise.

Why take the bait?

I don't know if this is bait. It's odd, sure, but it doesn't feel like fishing. Just feels like someone who's had several blows to the head.

When such very fires break out it catches all the emegency services by surprise. But so far, the courageous fire fighters and emergency services are dealing with the situation very well. It is hope this rare fire will be contained in time before it spreads too far and wide.

There was a similar fire last year also near Stalybridge.

Warm dry weather increases the risk of moorland and heathland fires.

Sorry to put a damper on your blazing overexcitement.

BBC calls the fire in Manchester ‘Apocalyptic’. Courageous fire fighters are having a hard time against this extremely rare historical fire.
