An EU medical graduate in 2019 - possibilities in the UK
Hello! I am finishing my studies in Estonia in 2019 and am exploring my options to come and work in the UK. I understand that I need a full registration from the GMC and can apply for foundation stand-alone Y1/Y2 placement (my studies in Estonia last for 6 years). This raises some questions for me - to apply for full registration, do you need to take the PLAB test if you're from and EU country? If you can apply after you're got your medical degree (in June 2019), are there any obstacles applying for the Y1 stand-alone for example? Does anyone from the EU have any experience in entering the UK medical system after your studies? Any other/better work opportunities after medical school?
