Duke Of Edinburgh Silver

Hello, a while back my school was offering the duke of edinburgh silver award at around £600 per student - which my parents thought was too pricey, therefore I was unable to participate. Plus, they didn't run a bronze one either, so that was out of the question

I'm rather worried this may impact upon any future college or university applications
There are so many more cheaper alternatives to Duke of Edinburgh which are more beneficial for what you want to do for the future. If you commit to volunteering for over a year, you will have lots more to say as you are solely focussing on that instead of using it for DofE. Work experience/shadowing is also fantastic for universities.

Consider also super-curricular activities which will enrich your knowledge about a certain subject field or skill. Awards are nice, but don’t really reflect your own personality as well as someone committing their time on a variety of things.
