I'm learning Norwegian, and I want to purchase a texrbook/workbook to help me, but I'm not sure which one to buy. Do any of yous know any good Norwegian textbooks/workbooks to help me learn Norwegian?
Lifted from Quora "På vei ~ as most teachers and courses use this material for teaching Norwegian. I am not familiar with the contents well enough to explain in details the chapters and overall structure, but I’ve heard many say it’s a very good textbook for learning. Another one (I think it’s more advanced though) is Stein på stein (samleside): Velkommen til Stein på stein - many have also spoken about this one.I do hope this comes of any help at all and wish you the very best of luck."
"Ny i Norge is great. I once heard it was the most commonly used book for foreigners learning Norwegian. It is all in Norwegian (which I prefer), but even as a beginner, you will understand, because they do a great job of using pictures and building up from simple phrases at the beginning."

I don't have the book myself (yet) but someone told me to buy Norsk på 1-2-3 (by Elisabeth Ellingsen and Kirsti Mac Donald).

Also, check your local library! When I started learning Norwegian, I nipped down to mine, and found they had Colloquial Norwegian there. No-one else wanted it for aaaaages, so I got to renew it 4 times in a row. That course was pretty good, and it had lots of audio, so I could just load it on my mobile and listen to it on the bus, etc.
If you can't afford a course at the moment, try Memrise as they have some free online Norwegian courses too. (Although the audio is a bit patchy).

How difficult is Norwegian to learn? I'm somewhat tempted to start learning it!

It is super easy to learn standard Bokmål, at least to A2 level (which is as far as I got in 8 weeks)- even easier than German was for me.
There's a free course on FutureLearn that has a few videos on it. You could watch a couple of them and see how easy it is to understand? Say if you try learning it!

There are two official ways to spell each word in Norwegian (one way is called Bokmål, book langauge, and the other is called Nynorsk, new Norwegian). The Bokmål version is the one most people use so you should learn that.
