So I've just found out that I have to write a speech and make a presentation for my GCSE English speaking and listening exam.

my topic is the Cherry Blossom Festival in Japan and its significance, history ect.

But I'm stuck on what the the intro should be like, any ideas?

I would suggest to start with something that involves the audience..perhaps with rhetoric or with humour or an anecdote...

Adress the audiencs, broadly explain what it is, why you've chosen got talk about it and anything interesting about it (facts, stats, unusual things ect) to engage the audience.

There is no audience, well my English teacher is the only person who's gonna be listening. We also had to pick any topic to talk about for 10 minutes. But thank you, anyway

Same here...
My notes weren't proper that I exceeded 10 mins...class was booing to stop ...I should have stopped and should have been embarrassed but lol...I started laughing...
Thankfully, wasn't an exam but a prep...

Try practicing looking at mirror...be immersed into the topic and make yourself comfortable in that topic (try to imagine it's a topic you've chosen to explore about)so you won't get time to worry about errors...Good luck!

I just did flashcards and used different coloured pens and kept things minimal. The different colours makes it easy to distinguish at a glance so you don't fumble during the speech
