Can I get contact lenses on the NHS? If so, what factors are considered to decide if they will be available to me.

You can get optical vouchers which means you can get contact lenses discounted if you're on benefits, job seekers allowance or low income

As a spectacle wearer for many years (since I was 5) I know that under 16s and under 18s in education are granted something like £70 worth of glasses, and then for any style that costs more this has to come from you. I think this also covers contact lenses but I'm not completely sure because contacts won't work for my condition. But logically I think it does, but the £70 usually only covers the very basic of contacts and glasses.
