Simplifying Algebraic Fractions

If you were asked to simplify (3x^3 - 8x -8) / (x - 2) would you just divide the polynomial by (x - 2) to simplify it?

Which would give you 3x^2 + 6x + 4

Yes.

Mucho appreciato siro
Since it is (x-2) in the denominator there is a condition that x is not equal to 2. At x = 2 your function is undefined. Divide it now. Find other roots. This equation will have 2 of them.
