Does "Second Class Honours, First Division" mean 2.1?

Just got my results, need clarification on what "Second Class Honours, First Division" means.

they were not very clear
a 2:1 is a 1st class honours, upper division. so yes, i believe it is a 2:1

No it's not. It's a second class, division one. To the OP yes, you got a 2:1.

To be honest, most of us only start hearing the formal names for degree classifications towards the end of our studies/when applying for postgraduate courses.

This proves me right. A 2:1 is formally expressed as second class, division one. It's not, in your words, a "first class honours". That would be a First or a 1:1.

Wow. A 5-second google search gives the answer on the UCAS website. Are we really producing a generation of graduates who don’t know where to look for information? If so our whole university system is failing 😪

yeah, i realized i put 1st class and not 2nd class in my original message. i knew what i put down, but just wrote the wrong one haha by accident. that's where i got my info from.

Yes, that's a 2.1, 2:1, 2i, II-1, or any other variation...
