Google tells me it's a multi-campus city-based university...

No, you need patience. And bumping your own threads so quickly is counter-productive because it makes unanswered threads look as if they have answers.

Nope. I had been looking for unanswered threads and accidentally stumbled across this one. It was luck.

And thanks for showing your appreciation of my reply. It's what makes my day worthwhile... oh wait, you didn't.

Ive been to the Mile End campus, It feels like a proper campus within the city. Similar to The University of Liverpool.

The campus is not in central London like UCL, LSE, Kings are.

I think the medical school is completely separate from the campus.

It is quite central, one bus will take you directly to Oxford Street (in a reasonable time) which is as central as it gets. It's location is just not as prestigious as the above universities you've mentioned, that's all.

Also there's several more campuses over London besides just Mile End and Whitechapel (the medical (and dental I should add) school you've mentioned).

It depends on where the society is based. If it's a society that's widely known across QM, then people from many campuses and courses will congregate. If it's a society specific to one campus e.g. The dental society, then obviously only people from the dental school will meet up.

The link I gave you in post #4 tells you which departments are in the different campuses. And it says that most are at Mile End, including most of the halls.

QMUL is the result of the merger of a number of different institutions, in some cases with their own original campuses being retained, eg for the medicine dept.

They're in different areas because they cater to the students differently. For example, Whitechapel has both a 'normal' hospital and a specialised dental hospital whereas Mile End does not - therefore it would be pointless for medics and dentists to be based at Mile End where they are far from the equipment and educational materials they need.

Most students live (in terms of uni accommodation) and study at Mile End - this is the biggest campus and offers the most courses.

For undergrads it's only Mile End and Whitechapel.

Mile End has all the courses except healthcare subjects.

People who study medicine/dentistry wouldn't say they study at QMUL instead they refer to it as "Barts and The London Medical School". It is completely independent from the rest of the uni except for financial purposes.
