It was announced earlier this morning that the legendary comic book artist / creator, Steve Ditko, was found dead on the 29th of June 2018 at the age of 90.
Most of you will probably have no idea who this guy is but you are bound to know the name of his co-creator for several legendary works: Stan Lee.
Steve Ditko was 1 of the influential comic book illustrators who, along with the late great Jack Kirby, helped Stan Lee transform Marvel into a comicbook powerhouse.
As well as Marvel, he helped out at the now defunct Charlton Comics, who are now part of DC comics, where his work helped inspire a certain Alan Moore to create the most critically acclaimed graphic novel / comic of all time: Watchmen.
So, I may hear you ask, what characters did he create? The answers are:
Whilst his name may not be that well known in the general public, his creations have helped entertain and inspire millions children, teens and adults around the world and for that I thank him.
R.I.P Mr. Ditko, your name may not be well known but your legacy will not be forgotten.
