How important is work experience really??

Hello,
So I’m going to be applying for uni this year and I don’t have relevant work experience for a natural sciences/biochem course. I have a job and also have done maths tutoring but does this have importance??
And should I be looking for other work experience (if so whattt?)??
Thanks

I still think they're completely useless unless you're applying for Medicine/Vet sciences. Or Law at somewhere very good.

Everywhere else will pretty much beg you to come in if your grades are good. I wouldn't worry. Not that it's a negative thing to have work experience. But it's a waste of time since you can get into uni anyway.
Work experience isn't too massively important for your course but you need to demonstrate a fond interest in the subject and relevant work experience is a way to do this. If not, if you do some wider reading and mention this it's just as important.
