Training as a patent attorney with a science background

Hello,
I am a PhD student in Biochemistry. I decided I would leave by September regardless of whether the work is finished or not (supervisor got fired and I have been working unsupervised and unpaid for 12 months now). I like science, but not "wet" lab. The careers services at my uni suggested patent attorney, and after I spoke to a few people in the profession and researched more on it, it sounds like something I would really like doing. I have been trying to find a placement for 2 months and I couldn't find one. Does anyone have any suggestions? I just thought I might be missing something. Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.
Do you have any career advisors in your university? They might be able to give you the suggestions that you need.
