I'm in year 12, going to year 13. I want to do Mechanical Engineering in Manchester but I have laughable predicted grades: B, C, D. Chances of raising these are absolutely impossible.
I know that I want to take a gap year after year 13 and fill it by doing EDT's Year in Industry, if I'm not accepted there then I'll try to do another engineering program.
But I'm not sure what to to about university applications.
Should I apply through ucas this year, which means that I will not be able to apply to any ambitious unis (my school won't let me due tp my grades) or am I allowed to freeze me UCAS application (I've only just made an account) and be able to apply to unis next year (for the 2020 entry)?
