Yes I think if you go into the branch and explain the situation there should be a way of doing so.

I advise you take your:

Paying in book
Some form of ID
Statement

Not too sure if you will need 1 or even all 3 but it's worth a shot!
Or you could go on the website, find the number for the direct line to your local branch and ask them?

With my bank at least (lloyds), they have your signature on file, so you fill in the form with your details and then sign it in front of them. Of course you should take ID, but it can be sped up if they do it like that.

This once happened to my friend and she just gave a load of details and they sorted her out.

if you do online banking transfere money to another account, i.e friend or parents and get them to withdraw, if its same bank normally 1 working day

don't you have to go to your own branch to sort it out? or can you go to any branch?

I know it's late but all you need is your passport. :smile: I've done it several times no problem.
