Its not selfish, its completely normal to feel that way. i was very close to my male cousin many years ago. he was my best friend for many years but as soon as i found out he was getting married it tore me up. it even made me jealous even though i've never seen him in a sexual way. and its true, as soon as he got married it was like i no longer existed. hit me pretty hard but thats life. you get used to it eventually. made new friends and became close to them but at some point we're all going to go our own way when we find partners of our own. you'll be ok. you'll make new friends or find your own partner. nothing ever lasts forever. you certainly won't be a loner.
