    Hi,

I have just completed a foundation year at the University of Leeds and unfortunately didn't receive the grades to progress onto the degree course.

I have a bronze room at Burley Road Student Accommodation; en-suite and a shared kitchen with 4 others. As I have left it too late I cannot terminate the contact and so need to find a willing tenant to take the contract. It is a 10 minute walk from the accommodation to the University of Leeds Campus and about a 10 minute walk into town.

As of now the room costs £119.50 a week, all bills included, however; I am offering the room at £110 per week.

If you need to know anything else please ask.

    Thanks

    Aaron

Hi - sorry you haven't had a response to this yet. I'm just going to bump the thread in the hope that someone sees this and can help

    Why do I do this?

The Universities forums get a lot of questions that are unanswered. This is often because the OP's thread got missed - bumping threads gives them another lease of life and frequently results in someone seeing it and being able to respond

If you would like to help with unanswered questions check out the first part of the list here and don't forget the second part of the list here.

I'm very interested in this, I have a few questions first. How long is the tenancy for this (I am searching for 51 weeks). Do you know who the other flat mates are and if they are UG or PG?

Hi, sorry for the late reply. The tenancy is for 44 weeks but you will be able to extend the contract. So far there are 3/5 people, and I know that 2 of them are UG.

How would I extend my contract to 51 weeks? Also, what would the cost be if I were to do 51 weeks instead of the 44 weeks? What would the process be for me to take over this tenancy?

Hi, I'll find the actual process for you. In terms of pricing it would cost you £114.50 for 51 weeks.

For switching the names on the tenancy agreement. I would show proof of an email from you stating you want to take the tenancy and you would email them confirming this. Then they will send you the contact to sign and that's I believe.

    Hi,

Just thinking what might be easiest and quickest, are you local to Leeds? if so, i'm happy to meet you at Burley Road Village where we can get answers to your questions and if you're happy with them we can arrange to re assign the lease. I'm available most of this week. Wait to hear from you.

Sorry about the wait!! I've been very busy the past week. I live 2 hours on the train but I have seen the accommodation. I definitely want to live in this village, but I'm contested about the silver or the bronze. Mainly for the double bed but also seems really nice. But it is quite expensive. You said you'd offer £110/week for a bit. What would you offer me, if anything? Also, what floor is your room and any idea if the view is on the outside of the village or facing inwards? Finally, any more info on the flatmates, other than UG? I think flatmates are quite an important factor for me.
