Wasn't a petrol bomb, that much is clear from the photos.

It's also rather ironic that his supporters accuse the attackers of cowardice given his history.

You think it was loyalists or angry dissidents?

Doesn't look like it was a particularly powerful explosive, the intention was probably just to intimidate rather than cause any serious injury. Still reprehensible, especially as innocent children were in the vicinity.

Who knows, was wōden said it's likely somebody trying to cause trouble rather than kill directly given the targets and how **** the bombs were, either that or they're **** with explosives, and either way it should be condemned in the strongest possible terms (even by those of us who would not shed a tear for Adams)

I'll gloss over the irony here of a man who was responsible for so much violence getting a taste of it - that's all a bit bad form considering there were children involved and his work in support of the peace process. The more important point, however, is how there are now very clear rival power structures in the Irish Republican movement.

If the dissident republicans can become powerful, then Sinn Fein and the Provisional IRA end up looking like just another part of the establishment. Given that it was Sinn Fein who dragged Republicans into the peace process, that's a worry. Still, it's the consequence of Northern Irish politics becoming increasingly polarised and extreme - on both sides of the divide.
there will be a lot more of this nonsense if Brexit goes wrong :emo:
