I'm pretty set on doing architecture at university but the only thing thats putting me off is the fact that everyone talks about how it takes over your life. I hear that people spend most of their time working. Would you still have time for societies/a fun social life?

Hi blackvoid17,

I am currently a student at Ravensbourne, a specialised design and media university in London. I have a lot of friends who are currently doing their BA in Architecture as well as who have already completed it. They have said that architecture takes over their lives because of the amount of work but that's with any design based course. If you are serious about architecture than you need to make sure that your passion is in it and than you can a more balanced uni life.

I have friends who recently graduated but while they were doing their BA in Architecture they also ran societies such as fencing, gaming, and asian society. It all depends on how you balance your work and social life. A good way find out more about the course and actually talk to different people is to go to open days. They are a great source of information straight from current students.

Check out our architecture courses here.

I hope this was helpful. If you have anymore questions please feel free to ask.
